CLIENT FOOD CHOICE is a core value at BCAC, so we are putting safety and sanitation measures in place to provide a safe environment for clients to shop:

  • Food shopping is by appointment on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. A few slots are available for walk-up clients unable to make an appointment. No appointments are needed for Thursday and 2nd Saturday shopping. On those days, clients will shop in the order they arrive.
  • Please do not arrive more than 10 minutes prior to appointment time.
  • Touchless sign-in includes having the barcode on your driver’s license/state ID scanned. BCAC does not have access to any info contained by the state issuing your license, but simply associates the bar code with your BCAC client file to expedite the check-in process. If you do not have barcode ID, a BCAC ID card will be issued to checking in with.
  • Clients will social distance and follow directional arrows on the floor.
  • Volunteers will bag your groceries for you at check out. Clients are welcome to bring in reusable shopping bags to be used.
  • Closed-circuit video is used to ensure safety of our clients and congestion in the pantry. Volunteers are available to help as needed (questions, spills, etc).

*Those without transportation can call HealthNet for free transportation at 616.632.1015. Those who are quarantined or housebound can call 616.530.4080 for delivery.
