Client food choice is a core value at BCAC, so we are putting safety and sanitation measures in place to provide a safe environment for clients:

  • Food shopping is by appointment on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. A few slots are available for walk-up clients unable to make an appointment. No appointments are needed for Thursday and 2nd Saturday shopping. Clients will shop in the order they arrive.
  • Clients are not allowed in the parking lot until 10 minutes prior to appt.
  • Shoppers need to wear a mask (masks/face shields available if you need one) and will sanitize hands before and while shopping.
  • Only one person per family is allowed to shop. If you have physical limitations, no childcare, compromised health, or concerns about entering the building, curbside food pick-up is available.
  • Touchless sign in includes having the barcode on your driver’s license/state ID scanned. A BCAC ID card will be issued if you do not have barcode ID.
  • Clients will social distance and follow directional arrows on the floor. Simply put - stay behind your cart and keep your distance.
  • Clients will bag their own groceries as they go. Pantry policies and item limitations are expected to be followed. Only touch items you will take.
  • Reusable bags are not allowed in the pantry. You may bag at your car if you wish to use them.
  • Closed-circuit video will be used to ensure safety protocols are followed. A pantry volunteer is available to help as needed (questions, spills, etc)
