FOOD ASSISTANCE DURING COVID-19 - Updated 1.14.22
No new clients enrolled for ongoing food assistance at Buist CAC living outside of service area (north to 68th St, south to 108th St, east to Division Ave, west to Kenowa Ave). New clients outside of boundaries will be able to shop once and then directed to a local food pantry for ongoing food assistance. Clients served by Buist CAC prior to January 14, 2022 will continue to be served as before.
SIGN-UP DURING COVID: photo ID card or postal mail with your name/address (school, medical, DHHS, utility, etc.), short form for household information
FREQUENCY: 1 time/month - if more food help is needed you can schedule a screening appointment to see if you financially qualify for additional assistance
CURBSIDE ORDERS: Available for those physically unable to shop or have COVID exposure. Order must be called in to 616.583.4080 at least 1-hour prior to client shopping Monday (11am), Tue/Wed/Thur (9:30am)
CLIENT FOOD CHOICE is a core value at BCAC. Safety and sanitation measures are in place for client safety:
*Those without transportation can call HealthNet for free transportation at 616.632.1015. Those who are quarantined or housebound can call 616.530.4080 for delivery

Serving: Residents of Byron Township south of 68th St, live in Byron
Center school district, referrals from a church/doctor/non-profit

East to Disivion Ave. & West to Kenowa Ave.

Bring in the following documents during Client Pantry Hours. A brief interview with staff/volunteers will help establish a plan for assistance.
Established Clients:
Periodic reviews are held to adapt your care plan based on need and milestones.
If you are facing financial hardship paying rent due to COVID conditions, this program may be able to provide assistance.
